The Windmill Villa is located between Fort Stella and Fort
Falcon and is thus called because of the previous presence of
old windmills. It became a national museum after having been
one of two Napoleonic residences on the island. The emperor
arrived on Elba in May of 1814, followed by his mother, his
sister Paolina and a small court. Inside the villa there are
many of their things, and outside a welcoming garden with a
beautiful view of the coast.
